Position: Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Overview

Equipment Share is hiring a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) with a $3000 sign-on bonus. At Equipment Share, we’re assembling a team to build something innovative in construction technology, real-time support, and customer care. This role is at our rental facility in Milwaukee, WI. The technician will maintain and repair a variety of customer and company-owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, with opportunities to work on the newest fleet in the industry.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay after 40 hours. On call during weekends only in special circumstances.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Use our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models.
  • Determine root cause and corrective action quickly to work efficiently.
  • Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
  • Use technology (laptops and tablets) comfortably.
  • Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with a high degree of independent judgment.
  • Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner daily.
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
  • Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
  • Field Mechanic: travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer-owned equipment; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
  • Year-round company provided OEM training.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications Required Skills/Abilities
  • Must own tools applicable to position.
  • Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills.
Education And Experience
  • High School diploma, trade school certificate preferred.
  • Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record. Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Field Technicians may be required to be clean shaven to enter worksites as required by customers.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen.
