Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Overview
Transdev in Milwaukee, WI seeks an experienced A-Level Diesel Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. This role supports safety, efficiency, and longevity of diesel-powered assets.
Responsibilities- Conduct diagnostic tests to identify issues and determine necessary repairs on diesel engines.
- Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Complete preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Lead diagnostic efforts to identify complex issues and determine comprehensive repair strategies for diesel engines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair tasks, including overhauling and rebuilding components to required specifications.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge.
- Other duties as required.
- 5 years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
- ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided.
- Mechanic’s Tool Set.
- Must be able to work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 prohibits the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis.
The essential functions require the ability to:
- Work outside in varying temperatures, weather, and humidity; 100% of the job is outdoors, including work in remote locations.
- Push and pull objects up to 75 pounds; lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to access equipment at ground level.
- Tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
