- Inspect mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems.
- Overhaul and repair heavy‑duty engines, clutches, transmissions, differentials, and power systems, cooling systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, or any other system used on medium- and heavy‑duty trucks.
- Install engines, transmissions, and other components.
- Perform preventative maintenance.
- Submit complete technical reports and documentation as required by manufacturers for all components on all makes of trucks and trailers.
- Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction.
- Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
- Rewire electrical or electronic systems.
- Align equipment or machinery.
- Repair non‑engine automotive or vehicle components.
- Install vehicle parts or accessories.
- Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
- Comply with safety and EPA regulations as well as internal controls.
- Complete all work orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate work order line and comments are entered; understand reason and task codes and sign and check parts order form.
- Tag all warranty parts with appropriate information.
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED equivalence
- Diesel mechanic 0‑5 years’ experience
- Strong diagnostic aptitude
- Valid driver's license
- CDL license or ability to obtain one
- Communication skills
- Teamwork
- Dependable and reliable attendance
- Own hand tools is a plus
- Eagerness to learn
- Professionalism
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- 3rd Shift – 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM, Sunday – Friday
