• Inspect mechanical components of vehicles to identify problems.
• Overhaul and repair heavy‑duty engines, clutches, transmissions, differentials, and power systems, cooling systems, steering systems, hydraulic systems, or any other system used on medium- and heavy‑duty trucks.
• Install engines, transmissions, and other components.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Submit complete technical reports and documentation as required by manufacturers for all components on all makes of trucks and trailers.
• Operate transportation equipment to demonstrate function or malfunction.
• Replace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical parts.
• Rewire electrical or electronic systems.
• Align equipment or machinery.
• Repair non‑engine automotive or vehicle components.
• Install vehicle parts or accessories.
• Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
• Comply with safety and EPA regulations as well as internal controls.
• Complete all work orders in a timely manner, ensuring all labor and parts are charged to the appropriate work order line and comments are entered; understand reason and task codes and sign and check parts order form.
• Tag all warranty parts with appropriate information.
• Other duties as assigned

• High School diploma or GED equivalence
• Diesel mechanic 0‑5 years’ experience
• Strong diagnostic aptitude
• Valid driver's license
• CDL license or ability to obtain one
• Communication skills
• Teamwork
• Dependable and reliable attendance
• Own hand tools is a plus
• Eagerness to learn
• Professionalism
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
