Service Excellence HVAC/R Lead Technician - Milwaukee, WI

We partner with restaurants, assisted‑living facilities, retail franchises, and more, installing and managing patented technologies and software to deliver complete energy‑saving solutions.

We are looking for a motivated individual to fill the Service Excellence HVAC/R Lead Technician role. The successful candidate will lead maintenance and optimization of Budderfly HVAC units, ensuring they run at optimal efficiency across the Milwaukee area.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure continued excellent operation of Budderfly HVAC units within the geographic area; maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems and equipment.
  • Identify maintenance risks on HVAC/R equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC/R systems.
  • Complete commissioning checks of HVAC units to ensure continued efficient operation, including HVAC RTU controller configuration.
  • Provide physical maintenance: change filters, clean coils, inspect/replace belts, and inspect units for mechanical failures.
  • Respond to emergency service calls during nights and weekends when on‑call.
  • Clean, adjust, and repair systems and perform warranty services.
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Keep daily logs and records of all functions in the company work‑order system.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal standards and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customer requirements.
  • Assist with customer queries.
Desired Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a service technician on HVAC/R systems.
  • HVAC controls experience; familiarity with Lennox Core Controllers and Carrier System Vu controllers is a benefit.
  • Ability to recognize control and mechanical issues before they compound.
  • Enjoys continuous learning, supported by the organization, both technically and professionally.
  • Desire to grow professionally beyond routine tasks.
  • Desire to help shape a developing team with fellow HVAC/R technicians in the area.
  • Customer‑ and safety‑focused individual.
  • Ability to travel within Milwaukee, WI areas.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and be available for on‑call duties, including nights and weekends.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work across organizational teams.
Location

Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The role focuses on managing the fleet of Budderfly HVAC units in the local area.

Compensation

$25 – $45 USD. Compensation is based on level of experience, skill set, qualifications, and location.
