Field Mechanic Welder

Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $27.00/hr

• Install, repair, replace, and dismantle machinery according to blueprint specifications.
• Act as signal person for A-C employed crane operators to ensure safety on the worksite.
• Use hoists, pulleys, jacks, and come-a-longs to perform tasks.
• Fit bearings, align gears and wheels and attach motors.
• Welding:
  Join steel materials with various arc welding processes to form a permanent bond.
• Cutting:
  Use heat from burning gases or an electric arc to cut and trim metal objects to specific dimensions.
• Move equipment and materials to different locations using a forklift and/or manlift.
• Demonstrate a commitment to safety.

Required

Education & Experience:

High School degree or General Education degree (GED) and 1-2 years welding experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Flux core Arc Welding (FCAW) must pass a qualification test.

Required Knowledge &

Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Welder.
• Experience with welding on heavy plate steel/structural steel.
• Prior experience working in construction industry/activities in a Cement, Paper, or Mineral/Aggregate processing environment.
• Dedication to safe and environmentally compliant work.
• Knowledge of MSHA and OSHA regulations.
• Able to show initiative and decisiveness.
• Work well within a team environment.

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to comply with Company safety procedures (including use of personal protective equipment) at any time.
• Due to the nature of the job, employees are required and must be able to wear personal protective equipment at all times. These include, but are not limited to, steel-toed boots, fall protection, respirators, hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hats, face shields, and face coverings (if mandated).

• Candidates must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Up to 75% Travel. This position requires extensive travel to customer locations throughout the United States.
• The employee is regularly required to travel for several weeks at a time working 12-hour shifts seven days per week.
