Sous Chef

• We are hiring immediately for full time Sous Chef positions.
• Location: University School of Milwaukee – 2100 Fairy Chasm Road, Milwaukee, WI 53217.

• Schedule: Full time schedule Monday through Friday, including some weekends and nights. 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.
• Requirements: 2 years of experience as a sous chef or similar, HACCP knowledge required.

• Pay Range: $23.50 – $28.00 per hour.

Free meals, uniforms and laundering service available at select locations.

Helps Executive Chef prepare and cook foods, coordinates activities of cooks and other food‑service associates, assumes responsibility for kitchen and food‑service associates in absence of Executive Chef.

• Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards; ensure deadlines meet based on production orders.
• Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, participation in reviews and recommending disciplinary action.
• Store food in designated areas following all corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies and utensils; clean workstation thoroughly before leaving area, keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly, service‑oriented manner; relay relevant information to supervisor.
• Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them to associates and customers.
• Keep up with peak production and service hours.
• Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies; track product production, consumption and waste; inform supervisor when supplies or product are low.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
