We have an opening for a Cook I who will be responsible for preparing and cooking all food items according to menus, expediting orders quickly and correctly as ordered, and ensuring junior members of the team are performing duties to standards and specifications.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Prepare station-specific food items according to recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Monitor product storage, portion sizes, and items like stocks and sauces.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas to meet Health Department regulations.
- Ensure equipment is clean, sanitized, and operational.
- Uphold high standards of food production and presentation.
- Maintain personal hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Manage station setup, breakdown, and prep work.
- Follow recipe specifications for all food preparation.
- Previous cooking experience required, minimum of 3 years in a similar position preferred;
Culinary or Apprenticeship program preferred. - High school diploma preferred.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment (knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.).
- Ability to lift, push, or pull weights up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long periods, work in a confined space with high levels of noise and frequent interruptions, and perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
- Ability to obtain any local, state or federal license or certification for sanitation, liquor service, or food service certification.
- Must be able to work a varied schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and the ability to work under pressure.
