The Abbott lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin invites applications for a Research Assistant position in the area of functional analysis of micro

RNA genes in

C. elegans. The job position is for a part time employee (up to 20 hrs/week) for 6-8 months.

• Carry out molecular and genetic experiments with the model organism,
  
  C. elegans in a project directed towards understanding the function of micro
  
  RNA genes.
• Assist in routine lab work including cleaning glassware, preparing media, pouring agar plates for
  
  C. elegans maintenance.

  Bachelor’s degree in related field, molecular biology techniques including PCR, qPCR, DNA/RNA extraction
