Job Description & How to Apply Below

Overview

A day in the life at Argon Industries. You clock in for 2nd shift (Monday–Thursday, 1:30 PM–12:00 AM) and settle into a pace that rewards precision. There’s a $1/hour shift premium, and the drive is certifying parts that meet exacting customer requirements and Argon Industries’ ISO standards.

What your day looks like

Early in the shift: You review the Job Traveler, customer specs, and any deviations for the work queued up. With blueprints and drawings in hand, you set up calipers, height gages, micrometers, squares, pin and thread gages, and the CMM to run a meticulous first piece inspection on welded and fabricated components. You translate GD&T and weld symbols into actionable measurements, confirming that what’s made matches what’s required.

Mid-shift momentum: As production runs, you perform in-process checks, then final inspections, keeping quality aligned from start to finish. You collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to clarify requirements and close feedback loops—updating drawings, Job Travelers, and programs when needed so information stays accurate and current.

Coaching and improvement: You communicate with operators about potential issues, safety considerations, and efficiency opportunities. You observe, evaluate, and suggest new ideas, policies, and procedures that make quality more robust and repeatable.

Material control and traceability: You verify that the right materials are at the right place—type, size, quantity, and quality—maintaining full traceability throughout.

Beyond the bench
  • Champion Argon’s Quality Policy & Requirements and ISO procedures by training and monitoring employees.
  • Assist with ISO internal audits.
  • Train others on inspection equipment, including the Keyence CMM and Inspecvision.
  • Work directly with customers, suppliers, and coworkers. Prepare, review, enforce, and follow up on CARs, SCARs, and customer complaints—closing paperwork and requests promptly.
  • Organize and maintain Quality Assurance documentation and files.
  • Inspect all incoming material to Argon Industries’ acceptance criteria.
  • Interpret ASTM and AISI standards and judge compliance (including flatness and squareness).
  • Revise and keep current the Work Instructions related to quality.
  • Take on other duties as assigned to support the team.
What you bring
  • Ability to use—or quickly learn—inspection tools: micrometers, calipers, height gages, CMMs, and more.
  • Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints with geometric tolerances and weld symbols.
  • Capability to perform manual layout inspections.
  • Helpful: working knowledge of quality systems and familiarity with ISO.
Impact

Your work ensures every incoming and outgoing material meets or exceeds customer expectations and Argon Industries’ ISO policies and procedures—protecting our reputation for precision, one inspection at a time.
