Job DescriptionInitially all candidates will be doing QA Floor Inspection of plastic parts at the presses out in the shop. As they learn and acquire more experience these QA Inspectors will begin to do Quality Lab Tech work.
Desired Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous QA experience preferred (at least 1 year).
- Ability to read blueprints preferred.
- Mic and caliper knowledge preferred.
- Computer literacy preferred.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand/walk for up to 8 hours.
Under the direction of the Quality Lab Supervisor, with guidance from the Quality Lab Tech Lead, the Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for the completion of testing and inspection, dimensional analysis and support of other departments within Hellermann Tyton. This position requires the Technician to be able to complete product/process inspections in a product environment as well as a lab environment while managing files and software.
Overtime will be required including some weekend hours. This position will also maintain Hellermann Tyton's TS16949/ISO
14001/EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.

- Help support the Hellermann Tyton team by mentoring operators regarding product quality.
- Perform 1st piece inspection of manufactured product.
- Perform in‑process inspection of manufactured product.
- Perform product specific tests, including but not limited to tensile.
- Perform moisture analysis on manufactured product as well as incoming.
- Verify material certification and approve raw material.
- Enter and edit SPC data in the SPC computer file.
- File all QA records and samples (obsolete and current).
- Use incoming colour chip samples to verify colourant in receiving.
- Handle non‑conforming material isolation and documentation.
- Perform a dimensional layout referencing the Hellermann Tyton drawing.
- Use SPC software and record all inspection and test data.
- Weigh parts.
- Use control plans, PPAP and PPC testing.
- Assist in maintaining Hellermann Tyton's quality and environmental certification by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation.
- Become a "Go To" person for production personnel regarding product quality.
- Determine "Clean Point" when a non‑conformance is found to support a lean work environment.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to use basic hand measuring tools.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and orally.
- Basic computer skills (Windows, Excel) and injection‑molding knowledge a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1‑year prior lab experience preferred.
- Good math and communication skills.

- Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. (bend over to lift 50 lbs.).
