Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week. We offer 10‑hour shifts, providing a flexible, rotating 4‑day work week (Monday–Friday), 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. We can also do 5 days 8 hours if preferred.
Job Summary Approximately 85% of this position involves triage. The RN practices in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of Nursing Practice and is responsible for performing triage via telephone and patient messaging within the electronic health record (EHR). The RN appropriately delegates patient care responsibilities and maintains accountability for the quality of care delivered. In addition, the role includes providing health education to patients and families, with an emphasis on self‑management and preventive care.
Essential Functions - Adheres to all Children’s Wisconsin and Children’s Medical Group policies, procedures, and standards. Ensures confidentiality to our customers by creating and maintaining a secure and trusting environment; maintains HIPAA compliance. Provides exceptional care to patients and families to fulfill our patient experience promise. - Regularly performs RN duties and maintains own patient care competencies as determined by position scope of practice.
Ability to provide in person clinical care during nurse visits, providing education to families, and coordination of care as needed. - Notifies provider of any patient needing immediate assistance. - Collaborates with other disciplines as required to coordinate patient assessment, develop/monitor outcomes, implement plan of care, and monitor variances to ensure quality patient care. - Provides nursing care via telephone triage and electronic health record, using standardized pediatric assessment, care protocols and patient guidance and education to the necessary dispositon of care.
- Documents in accordance with organizational nursing standards. - Adapts to changing work assignments and schedules. - Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.

Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse required - Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred
Experience:
* 2+ years experience in a primary care or urgent care setting preferred
* Experience with pediatric patients preferred
* Triage experience in a clinical pediatric setting preferred
* Venous blood draws experience preferred

- Ability to work with a diverse patient population to promote a culturally competent environment. - Strong interpersonal skills for positive and effective interaction with patients, families, visitors, providers, and the health care team. - Good organization, delegation, and communication skills to facilitate efficient patient care. - Strong demonstrated ability in assessment, analytical decision making, and critical thinking. - Analytical skills are necessary to assess complex patient conditions effectively.
