Job Summary

The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic patient and family centered care. The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services systematically and continuously collects and assesses data related to patient health status to develop, execute and evaluate the plan of care. The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services utilizes evidence to drive clinical decisions and practice related to individual and population health.

The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services establishes goals and strategies for meeting care coordination needs across settings with the patient, family, and/or other care providers. The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services considers factors related to safety, effectiveness and fiscal accountability in planning and delivering care. The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services delegates and supervises care in accordance with the WI Nurse Practice.

The Staff RN – Ambulatory Services participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives and assumes responsibility for their professional development.

Major responsibilities of this role will include one or more of the following:

  • Perform/direct ACLS
  • Independent rhythm interpretation and defibrillation
  • Administration of advanced lifesaving medications
  • Independent, templated (RN‑only) visits for patient assessment, with action taken based on established protocols and/or clinical practice standards using clinical judgement to determine intervention timing/specifics.
  • Specialty patient education where certification/additional certificate is required for role (listed in job requirements) – Sedation, Telemetry monitoring & interpretation/management of rhythm changes
  • Assisting with complex procedures – (RN doing care / work on patient, or RN has role in treatment / procedure, etc.)
  • Advanced wound therapy (VACs, debridement, etc.) – Central line management (TPA administration) and maintenance (dressing / cap changes, access / flushing)
  • Device interrogation and interpretation with resultant action – Complex infusions (concurrent infusions, hazardous medication administration, blood and blood products, etc.)
  • Work may also include patient care coordination, direct patient care, patient education, telephone triage/eVisits, and performing/assisting with minor procedures. May float to other areas as needed for operations need.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION

Clinical experience and/or interest in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment is required. At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience is preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION

Nursing licensure is required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION
