Responsibilities- Nurse/Patient Relationship
- Incorporate responsibility, accountability, clinical decision‑making, authority, shared governance, and critical thinking in daily nursing practice.
- Provide individualized care to promote physical and psychosocial comfort.
- Assess patient and family readiness and involve them in planning and implementing care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other health care professionals to develop plans of care.
- Support patient decision to question, refuse, or terminate treatment.
- Assuring/Improving Quality Care
- Mobilize appropriate resources in situations that may negatively impact outcomes.
- Adapt practice to the latest standards according to evidence‑based literature.
- Participate in quality/process improvement initiatives.
- Patient/Staff Education
- Assess patient and family readiness to learn and modify approach as necessary.
- Plan, implement, and provide follow‑up education for patients.
- Nursing Process
- Recognize changes in clinical situations and evaluate and implement changes to the plan of care.
- Prioritize and organize patient care and ensure follow through with planned care.
- Document thoroughly, accurately, and concisely.
- Leadership/Collaboration/Professional Development
- Participate in unit meetings and activities that improve patient care.
- Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills.
- Maintain current knowledge basis relevant to practice.
- Registered Nurse – Current Wisconsin RN license
- Valid driver’s license issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles
- Current CPR certification
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Earn 10.0 continuing education credits annually
- Demonstrate proficiency for the requirements for NC I
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with patient care equipment
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts
- Ability to transport objects, patients, and equipment
- Ability to respond quickly to patient needs and work at a fast pace
- Exposure to potential hazardous conditions while caring for the sick
- Ability to assist in evacuation of patients in case of fire or disaster
- Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally and/or 50 pounds frequently
Responsible for providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care by incorporating responsibility, accountability, clinical decision‑making, authority, shared governance, and critical thinking in daily nursing practice. Primary role is to use the nursing process in overseeing patient care to achieve the desired outcome in the department. A Nurse Clinician II plans and sets goals demonstrating a holistic approach to patients and families. Assumes leadership responsibilities at the unit level and demonstrates mastery of clinical skills.
