Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department
Join Aurora Health Care as an Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department. Your compensation will be based on your skills and experience. The base pay range is $37.50/hr - $56.25/hr.

- Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient interventions and involve patients and families in care planning.
- Anticipate and recognize significant changes in patients' condition; provide ongoing assessment and modify care plans appropriately.
- Reduce patient risk and increase safety through evidence‑based strategies.
- Coordinate discharge plans and interprofessional collaboration.
- Maintain nursing and regulatory standards; support shared governance.
- Communicate effectively and act as a leader within the care team.
- Promote a culture of safety, report events, and implement corrective actions.
- Apply ethical decision‑making and collaborate across disciplines.
- Participate in professional development and mentor peers.
- Ensure competence with age‑specific patient care and adhere to department policies.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- One year RN experience preferred or prior emergency medical services experience.
- Holistic patient care with a patient and family focus.
- Recognize situational changes and respond with confidence.
- Proficient computer skills and use of electronic medical records.
- Excellent written, verbal, listening, and interpersonal communication.
- Human‑relation skills, initiative, and collaboration.
- Independent critical decision‑making.
- Strong organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving.
- Time management and multitasking in a dynamic environment.
- Team building and delegation skills.
- Maintain annual educational requirements for hospital‑based certifications.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist frequently.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, 20 lbs. over the head, carry 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
- Push/pull with 30 lbs. of force, perform sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person, use foot pedals on carts, and equipment.
- Expose to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, and communicable disease; protective gear required.
- Functional speech, vision, hearing, touch, and fine hand manipulation for IV insertion.
