Where You Will Work The Surgical ICU is a 21-bed unit that cares for a broad spectrum of high-acuity patients, including abdominal transplant, general abdominal surgery, ENT surgery, and vascular surgery. Our nurses partner closely with a highly collaborative group of physicians and nurse practitioners, and hone a wide range of skills, including complex dressing changes and extracorporeal therapies like CRRT and MAR.
The unit provides a comprehensive orientation to prepare nurses for a fast-paced, critical environment, with a solid orientation plan for new grads.
- As a skilled and compassionate RN, provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Use evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and effective communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
