Responsible for managing and optimizing all inventory related functions within the company. Including tracking inventory levels, working with Material Handling, and Shipping / Receiving and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate is familiar with ERP system use and is detail driven. The role of the inventory specialist is to ensure our inventory is managed efficiently and our records are accurate.

Duties and Tasks:
- Maintain and update inventory records using the ERP system.
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses.
- Perform regular physical inventory audits on raw material and finished goods, investigate, and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure received material counts are accurate and properly stored.
- Coordinate with Production Management and Material Handlers to forecast daily needs to ensure production does not have to wait.
- Implement effective inventory control methods and procedures.
- Identify and dispose of obsolete or damaged inventory in accordance to company policies.
- Prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels and adjustments.
- Work with Management, Customer Service, Production, material handling and shipping department as needed.
- Be forklift and scissor lift certified or have the ability to become certified.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Strong computer skills and use of barcode scanners.
- Problem solving skills.
- Supports & drives continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
- Understand Kanban systems.

Education / Experience- High School Diploma or GED.
- 1-3 year experience as an inventory specialist.
- Computer experience (Word, Excel, Power Point & Visio). Including knowledge in building and maintaining spreadsheets.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, purchase orders, and procedural manuals.
- Able to communicate effectively with Management, Customer service and other employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Able to practical problem solve and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Able to interpret a variety of specifications and information furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
- The employee is frequently required to sit or stand while using hands and requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, carrying and moving parts, materials, and product.
