Maintenance Mechanic - Milwaukee, WI:
Shift hours:
  • 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM (2nd Shift) or 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM (3rd Shift)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Plant operation is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
Pay:
  • $38.24 per hour

Our Milwaukee manufacturing site is located in a big city, with city amenities but at a lower cost than most. The site was originally owned by the Gardetto family, who created Gardetto’s by using any broken bread sticks leftover in their plant combined with seasonings! What your day will look like:
  • Creating high‑quality foods that are eaten everyday nationwide

    • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial processing and packaging machinery, work tools, and equipment
    • Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues
    • Providing technical support and plant leadership for equipment troubleshooting and modifications
    • Performing welding and fabrication activities
    • Repairing and maintaining building utilities, including assembly and installation of pipe sections, fittings, or plumbing fixtures, and installation of water or sewer treatment plant equipment by performing hydraulic plumbing
    • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing electrical systems, including conduits, tubing, fixtures, or components
    • Installing or replacing electronic equipment, components, systems, power, communication, control, or security equipment or system
    • Understanding, initiating, and participating in root cause analysis (Why, Why)
    • Performing both uptime and downtime preventive maintenance
    • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives to increase platform performance
    • Assisting in training new employees
    • Performing other duties as needed
What you have to offer:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent education in a related field
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HVAC systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Machinist and/or metal fabrication experience
  • Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred
  • Ability to solve diverse procedural problems within well‑defined standards, by selecting from learned responses
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft systems (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and Maximo (CMMS)
  • Ability to understand and troubleshoot basic electrical circuits; willingness to learn additional electrical skills
Physical requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces
  • Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms
  • Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net, and gloves when required
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions
  • Willing to work around industrial high‑speed moving machinery
  • Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment
