Bar Machinist

Overview

Seeking an experienced Boring Bar Machinist for a job shop environment where programming from scratch and handling a wide variety of parts is the norm.

• Set up and operate boring bar machines in a job shop setting
• Program from scratch using Fanuc controls
• Create, edit, and verify programs using Poly Works and Edgecam
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
• Machine one-off and short-run parts while holding tight tolerances
• Perform in-process inspections and ensure quality
• Assist with material handling as needed, including using an overhead crane and operating a forklift with proper qualifications
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

• Minimum of 2 years of solid boring bar machining experience
• Proven ability to program from scratch
• Strong experience with Fanuc controls
• Working knowledge of Poly Works and/or Edgecam
• Comfortable handling varied parts and changing priorities
• Qualified to operate forklifts and use overhead cranes
