Overview
Seeking an experienced Boring Bar Machinist for a job shop environment where programming from scratch and handling a wide variety of parts is the norm.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate boring bar machines in a job shop setting
- Program from scratch using Fanuc controls
- Create, edit, and verify programs using Poly Works and Edgecam
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Machine one-off and short-run parts while holding tight tolerances
- Perform in-process inspections and ensure quality
- Assist with material handling as needed, including using an overhead crane and operating a forklift with proper qualifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Minimum of 2 years of solid boring bar machining experience
- Proven ability to program from scratch
- Strong experience with Fanuc controls
- Working knowledge of Poly Works and/or Edgecam
- Comfortable handling varied parts and changing priorities
- Qualified to operate forklifts and use overhead cranes
