Description
Purpose of the Job
:
The aircraft Ducting Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and overhaul of various aircraft ducting systems. This role requires a solid understanding of aircraft pneumatic ducting systems, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety. The ducting technician will work closely with others to ensure that all components meet the required performance standards and comply with FAA regulations.

Repair Shop Manager or Lead Technician
- Perform metal fabrication tasks such as trimming, cutting, drilling, marking, dent removal, identification, and assembly of metallic part in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and production planning documents.
- Perform basic composite and insulation processes such as hand lay-up, curing, trimming, and insulation wrapping tasks in accordance with work instructions, blueprints, and production planning documents
- Set up and operate production equipment including curing ovens, cutters, routers, sanders, and other fabrication machinery.
- Support welding fabrication processes.
- Operate basic hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment following training and safety guidelines.
- Use standard measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and scales to verify dimensions.
- Perform polishing, cleaning, and basic finishing operations in accordance with company standards.
- Accurately record material usage, traceability information, and shop traveler data as instructed.
- Assist with material handling, part movement, tool cleaning, and general shop support activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and FOD-free work area and comply with all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
- Follow written and verbal instructions from supervisors, leads, and production documentation.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by learning and applying standardized processes.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding work status or issues.
- Achieve and maintain departmental goals related to quality, utilization, and productivity.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the Composite, and Metal Fabrication job families.
- Prior Military or Civilian experience is desired in maintenance working on aerospace ducting systems
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, work orders, and production planning documents
- Understanding of aircraft ducting systems and repair techniques.
- Willingness to learn fabrication, fitting, and assembly techniques.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as calipers, dial gauges, and micrometers.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand and work with tools and equipment for extended periods. Comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to noise and chemicals.
