Overview

Reporting to the Metallurgical Engineering Manager, this role is central to producing premium investment castings. You will build shells, dewax, stage and burn out molds, execute precise metal pours, and finish parts for inspection—always with uncompromising safety and quality.

Responsibilities Shell Building
  • Monitor the robotic dip line; make timely slurry/viscosity adjustments.
  • Apply basic robot functions to maintain steady cell throughput.
Dewaxing
  • Transfer completed shells from the dip cell and run the boilerclave to remove wax safely and efficiently.
  • Patch shells as required to protect dimensional and surface quality.
Melt, Mold Handling & Pouring
  • Load dewaxed shells into the burnout oven; assist with unloading for pour operations.
  • Handle and pour molten metal into fired molds with precision and adherence to procedures.
Post-Casting Processing
  • Perform part knockout/removal and clean castings to prepare for inspection.
Safety & Culture
  • Wear proper PPE, follow all safety protocols, and maintain a clean, hazard‑aware workspace.
  • Other duties as assigned; actively support BCT's Culture and Core Values.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years in a foundry or metal casting environment (investment casting preferred).
  • Experience with ceramic mold preparation, wax pattern handling, and molten metal operations.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in high‑temperature conditions.
  • Demonstrated precision and quality focus across the casting lifecycle.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with the team.
