Overview
RRD is a leading global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions. This role supports machine operation in a light industrial setting, leading a crew to ensure safe operation, quality output, and achievement of production goals. Pay is 19/hr + 1.25/hr shift differential. Shift: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
Job SummaryResponsible for machine operation and crew leadership in a light industrial setting. Manages machine team to ensure proper and safe operation of assigned equipment. Responsible for quality, output, and meeting production goals. Fulfills the duties of Production Technician 1 and 2 as required.
Key Duties / Responsibilities- Production:
Monitors performance of machine and personnel. Ensures goals are met and issues are communicated to Supervisor and/or Production Technician 3 Lead. Completes all work assignments during production. Checks in materials, performs pocket setups, moves material offline when no longer needed, and handles other assignments as necessary. Applies advanced troubleshooting and performs basic maintenance on assigned machines to improve quality and performance.
Assists crew members as needed. (40%) - Crew Leadership / Training:
Organizes crew activities and delegates assignments. Performs assigned duties. Trains and develops all crew members. (30%) - Quality and Waste:
Monitors product quality and reports errors. Monitors print and bundle quality; makes adjustments to correct quality issues. Monitors waste and takes steps to reduce or eliminate spoilage and doubles. (15%) - Communication / Record Keeping:
Maintains accurate records (safety audits, packages per hour, labor hours per thousand, logs and forms). Communicates personnel issues to the Supervisor or Production Technician 3 Lead. Notifies other Operators/Supervisors and shifts as necessary. Other duties as assigned. (15%)

High School Diploma or GED (Preferred) - Experience
: 3-5 years related experience; basic computer experience - Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

- Experience as line lead or crew lead for one machine
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Effective communication of equipment knowledge, quality, and safety concerns
- Ability to troubleshoot machine problems
- Mathematical skills and production report proficiency
- Basic computer skills; technical skills vary by equipment
- Ability and knowledge to operate a pallet jack
- Strong knowledge of machine and manufacturing operations
- Ability to speak and communicate effectively in English (preferred)

- Ability to work overtime, beyond regular schedule, as required
The role requires lifting and handling up to 15 lbs regularly, and up to 40 lbs on occasion; frequent standing, walking, reaching, twisting, and use of hands for gripping. Work is in a fast-paced environment and may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, dust, paper particles, and industrial lift trucks. Hearing protection may be required in environments exceeding OSHA noise levels.

The national pay range for this role is $19.00/hr + 1.25 shift differential. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on location. Actual pay offers may vary by education, skills, experience, performance, shift, and location. Offers are contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screen.
