Packaging Machine Setup-Operator

Southside Milwaukee near airport.

Shifts:

1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Compensation: $18 - $25.

• Perform set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines.
• Inspect incoming packaging material to its finished product in accordance with company specifications; make adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment, changeover the equipment from one package size to another and perform light preventive maintenance (Cleaning and Greasing, replacing pads or tape).
• Quality Inspection: seal integrity; weight control; metal detection; X-Ray monitoring; box and label print quality; cap torque; induction seal.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
• Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops.
• Work in a moderate to fast-paced, high-speed environment; follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
• Housekeeping and sanitation.
• Assist with stacking or packing of boxes (only at machines with a slower rate).

• Proven experience as a Machine Operator.
• Reliable.
• Self-motivator.
• Working knowledge of packaging equipment or similar equipment.
• Understanding of production procedures and environment.
• Adhere to safety and health regulations.
• Ability to read specifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot (analytical skills).
• Attention to detail.
• Team work and good communication.
• Be able to stand on their feet for 6 or more hours a day.
