Fermentation Operator Job Description
As a Fermentation Operator, you will be responsible for operating fermentation equipment to produce animal probiotics. You will be setting up equipment according to work instructions and fermentation parameters, as well as identifying, troubleshooting, and responding to deviations in process, product, equipment, and performance.
Responsibilities- Operate fermentation equipment to create animal probiotics.
- Set up equipment per work instructions and fermentation parameters.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and respond to deviations in process, product, equipment, and performance variations.
- Set up recipes and/or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Understand and execute operations in mixing, pH adjustment, transfers, and process sequences.
- Document steps and maintain accurate records.
- Knowledge of fermentation processes.
- At least six months of experience performing fermentation.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a fermentation facility.
Work in a clean fermentation facility alongside up to 9 to 10 other fermentation technicians. The role primarily follows a Monday through Friday schedule with hours from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., but flexibility is offered for earlier start times at 5/6/7 a.m. Sometimes, you may be required to start at 5:00 a.m. or stay later to complete fermentation processes, especially when overtime is needed.
Collaboration with lab colleagues is essential to ensure product specifications are met.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
