A precision machining company in Milwaukee is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to optimize production processes and support new product launches. The facility produces high-tolerance components for aerospace and medical device customers requiring lean manufacturing principles.
You’ll work on the shop floor collaborating with machinists, quality engineers, and production supervisors to improve efficiency and reduce waste. The company invests in advanced CNC equipment and automation technologies. Strong emphasis on continuous improvement and employee development.
This position requires 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience with CNC machining knowledge. Six Sigma or Lean certification is preferred. The role involves hands‑on problem solving in a fast‑paced production environment with diverse engineering challenges.
- Develop and optimize CNC machining processes for precision components
- Create work instructions, process documentation, and router sheets
- Implement lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce cycle time and waste
- Support new product introductions from prototype through full production
- Conduct time studies and establish standard work procedures
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions
- Evaluate and implement automation solutions to improve productivity
- Collaborate with quality team on inspection methods and SPC implementation
- Select tooling, fixtures, and equipment for manufacturing operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience required
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes and G-code programming
- Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam or GibbsCAM
- Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP systems
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
