Overview
Machine Operator 2nd Shift - Plus Shift Premium at Brady Corporation. The role focuses on operating equipment in the Good Hope operations value streams to produce valuable, defect-free products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Success comes from following standard work and adhering to company policies.
What You’ll Be Doing- Follow Schedule Boards or Hour by Hour boards
- Print and produce product to match order specifications; perform hand finishing (e.g., laminating, stack cutting, sheeting) as required
- Perform final pre-run inspections, conduct quality checks during the run, and complete jobs to meet quality and quantity standards
- Perform all required preventive maintenance of applicable equipment
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials and chemicals (e.g., inks, cleaning solvents) according to procedures
- Work from standard work, written instructions, and established procedures to complete tasks
- Address and resolve routine inquiries and problems; refer more complex issues to supervisors
- Interact with different shifts to provide updates on current jobs, issues, or changes
- All other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office, data entry)
- Basic math skills
- Ability to safely lift and carry 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for 80–100% of shift
- Ability to push/pull 22 lbs
- Ability to climb 8 inches; frequent standing and walking
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Technical & analytical skill set
- Ability to read & follow written directions
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Mechanical aptitude (hand tools, pneumatic tools, following work instructions)
- Ability to read a ruler accurately within 1/64"
- Maintain production standards (quantity and quality)
