JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE:

Under the direction of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer II is responsible for managing production part number projects for ECN’s and Transfers, including tooling, fixtures, gauging, production routings, schedules, dimensional approval, costs, profitability, and customer contact / correspondence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded from time to time to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary. Included in this are the essential duties listed under Manufacturing Engineer I.

  • Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction, timeliness, and quality.
  • Develops and facilitates intermediate production part number projects including significant part redesign and complex mold setups for solidification, challenging secondary operations, component sub-assemblies, and subcontract selection/support on 10 or more active projects in multiple facilities.
  • Manages projects in advance markets such as the automotive, aerospace, defense and/or medical markets.
  • Supports intermediate quality responsibilities for production released part projects by creating customer quality documentation, identifying and reaching resolution on gaps/conflicts, and supports customer complaints.
  • Independently develops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods through part sampling, manufacturing feedback, and customer feedback.
  • Participate in company advancement projects.
  • Applies investment casting knowledge to improve operational performance in Dip/Dewax, tooling design, melt, and heat treat.
  • Determines the process steps, tooling and gauging, the materials and supplies to be used for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Manages part number projects to meet or exceed customer expectations for timing and quality.

EDUCATION AND/OR

EXPERIENCE:

Requires a bachelor's degree in technical engineering field from a four-year college or university and 3 + years’ experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience with CAD preferred.
