General Manager – Bushman Equipment

Position Summary

The General Manager is accountable for the overall performance of Bushman Equipment, including full profit and loss (P&L) ownership, leadership of Inside Sales and Engineering, and oversight of general business operations. The GM provides operational direction to the Production Manager through a corporate matrix structure in coordination with Xtek’s Vice President of Global Manufacturing. The GM also serves as the primary commercial leader for the site, actively engaging with customers and channel/field sales teams.

This position will require relocating to the Milwaukee area.

• Oversee budget development, and is accountable for financial outcomes.
• Optimize site performance while supporting Xtek-wide capacity, delivery, and profitability objectives (including work transfer when required).
• Directly supervise Inside Sales Personnel and Engineering Managers.
• Ensure quoting and commercial processes support margin discipline, lead-time commitments, and customer responsiveness.
• Partner with Xtek sales leadership and field sales to support and participate in customer interactions from pre-sale to post sale support.
• Provide input and recommendations on hiring, promotions, compensation changes, and terminations, in coordination with corporate leadership and HR.
• Maintain a performance culture with clear accountability while operating within Xtek’s corporate policies, approvals, and governance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations/Manufacturing, Business, or equivalent. MBA or related master’s degree, a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role with business accountability (GM, Site Leader, Operations Director with P&L, Business Unit Manager) in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Track record of strong commercial leadership that includes the oversight of quoting/pricing, margin discipline; experience negotiating scope, lead times, change orders, and customer escalations; and effective partnership with field sales.
• Experience leading engineering functions in an engineered-to-order / project-based environment and operational understanding of engineered-to-order manufacturing.
• History of achieving performance in key measures: on-time delivery, safety, quality, productivity/throughput, and profitability.
