A privately held transportation and logistics organization is seeking a Senior Director of Operations Manager to lead multi-functional branch operations and support continued growth. This role partners closely with executive leadership and serves as a key link between field leadership and centralized support teams.

The ideal candidate brings strong operational oversight, financial accountability, and business development experience within domestic transportation or brokerage environments.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership oversight across branch-level operations, administration, and sales performance
  • Act as a primary liaison between branch leadership and centralized support teams (HR, IT, Accounting, Legal, etc.)
  • Ensure operational excellence by meeting and exceeding customer service expectations
  • Oversee staffing, performance management, and workforce planning
  • Maintain full ownership of branch financial performance, including P&L accountability and monthly reporting
  • Monitor operational efficiency, cost controls, service quality, and productivity
  • Support business development efforts and drive revenue growth in alignment with organizational goals
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and long-term planning
  • Participate in executive-level problem-solving and growth planning
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support business objectives
Qualifications & Experience
  • 6–10 years of experience in logistics or transportation, with emphasis on operations, leadership, and P&L management
  • 5+ years of progressive leadership responsibility
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in freight brokerage and/or dispatch
  • Background in account management strongly preferred
  • Operational experience within dispatch or brokerage environments preferred
  • Existing book of business (customer base or carrier network) is a plus
