Overview
This position involves specific day to day responsibilities in the MCW buildings as well as minimal supervised responsibilities in more intricate repair and replacement aspects of HVAC and other Research Building mechanical systems.
Responsibilities- Troubleshooting, and repairing HVAC systems to keep our buildings running efficiently.
- Performing regular preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure consistent performance.
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues related to HVAC equipment.
- Monitoring system performance and making adjustments to improve energy efficiency.
- Collaborating with the facilities team to support general building maintenance.
- Responding promptly to maintenance requests and ensuring minimal disruption to daily campus operations.
- Keeping your working area safe, wearing and/or using appropriate safety equipment and tools, and abiding by established safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of safety practices, emergency procedures, operations and maintenance, risk management, planning and evaluation.
- Task management, coordination, and problem solving, investigation, restraint and self-defense skills.
Minimum Required Education: High school or equivalent

Prior HVAC experience
Appropriate experience may be substituted on equivalent basis.
Physical RequirementsWork requires heavy physical effort, but not for continuous periods requiring endurance.
Work EnvironmentContinuous exposure to extremely distracting working conditions requiring protective clothing. Work is frequently not performed in a controlled environment.
Sensory AcuityAbility to detect and translate speech or other communication required. May occasionally require the ability to distinguish colors and perceive relative distances between objects.
