Overview

A full-service business law firm, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Intellectual Property Paralegal to support our team in managing patents, trademarks, and copyrights. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to all aspects of the Intellectual Property practice and work closely with attorneys to provide exceptional legal support.

Experience in IP related work (trademarks and patents) is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents and file with the Patent and Trademark Office.
  • Draft letters to clients reporting patent, trademark and copyright prosecution events and deadlines.
  • Investigation of copyright, trademark and patent infringement
  • Docket patent and trademark prosecution events
  • Assist attorneys in managing all aspects of cases from inception to resolution, including organizing case files, tracking deadlines, and maintaining the case calendar.
  • Coordinate the discovery process, including document review and productions.
  • Conduct legal research on case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to corporate history and IP matters.
  • Maintain electronic and physical case files, ensuring that all documents are properly organized, indexed, and easily accessible.
Required Competencies,

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a IP paralegal preferred.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong understanding of IP procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal software, document management software (Relativity and DISCO) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
