Title: Technical Support Specialist – Manufacturing Floor
OverviewGlobal Power Components is a privately held, growing manufacturer of UL heavy gauge steel fuel tanks, trailers, large generator enclosures, and modular metal enclosures for housing fully equipped electrical distribution and control equipment. We have recently moved operations into a newly renovated 300,000 sq. foot facility that will foster our continued growth as we continue to be recognized as the undisputed leaders in our industry.
As a result of our expansion, we are looking for a Technical Support Specialist (Manufacturing Floor) to join our growing IT team.
We are seeking a Technical Support Specialist with expertise in supporting production environments across multiple facilities. This role combines Level 1 and Level 2 responsibilities with a strong emphasis on providing technical support for shop floor operations in 5+ manufacturing plants utilizing CNC machines, laser cutters, welding equipment, electrical systems, and other specialized production technologies. You will ensure seamless connectivity and functionality of critical devices and systems that keep our manufacturing operations running efficiently.
ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Floor Support
- Provide hands‑on technical assistance for production equipment interfaces, including CNC controllers, laser systems, welding stations, and electrical machinery
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues for shop floor devices (label printers, handheld scanners, production terminals)
- Support specialized software used in manufacturing environments (e.g., CAD/CAM, MES systems)
- Ensure reliable network access for production areas, including Wi‑Fi and wired connections
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to resolve IT‑related equipment issues quickly

- Respond to helpdesk tickets, calls, and walk‑up requests
- Troubleshoot Windows 10/11, Office 365 applications, and desktop hardware
- Install, configure, and update software; image and deploy laptops/desktops
- Manage Active Directory tasks (group access, workstation joins, user changes)
- Document resolutions, processes, and common fixes
- 3–5+ years of IT Support experience, with strong exposure to manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting CNC, laser, welding, and other industrial equipment interfaces
- Familiarity with MES, ERP, or CAD/CAM systems
- Endpoint management tools (Intune, PDQ, SCCM)
- Windows desktop OS and Office 365
- Basic networking (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)
- Active Directory administration
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware/software issues independently and prioritize critical production needs
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with operations teams
- Basic Power Shell scripting
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or relevant Microsoft certifications
