The Information Technology department at Artisan Partners is responsible for providing technology solutions that are reliable, adaptable, integrated, scalable and maintainable. The key clients of the Information Technology group span the entire investment process, from portfolio management to operations.
The Data Analytics Developer role for the Data Services team is primarily responsible for the architecture, development and support of activities related to the preparation, analysis, visualization and distribution of data. This individual may at times be responsible for the design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation of various data analytics tools, workflows and processes. Exceptional interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills are critical to successful performance in this role.
Responsibilities- Provide ownership of data wrangling, visualization, and analytic platforms, which include performing upgrades, monthly testing, access management, and troubleshooting
- Act as a subject-matter expert in business intelligence and analytics, helping various business and technical teams express ideas with data
- Communicate technical options to business teams to help them determine the appropriate implementation strategy for analytic and reporting related tasks
- Partner with data domain owners to empower self-service creation and management of data products, aligned to consumption modernization practices
- Contribute to enterprise education programs that raise data literacy and encourage self-service data capabilities
- Research and pilot tools to enhance Artisan’s ability to deliver data analytic solutions
- Implement innovative and comprehensive workflows to assist business units with automation where appropriate
- Provide ongoing support and assistance with existing platforms and projects
- Complete special assignments as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Keen interest in gaining business knowledge and driven to solve challenges through technology
- Proven track record of delivering high quality IT systems and applications, preferably within the financial industry, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a Data Analytics/Engineering role
- Highly developed problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage several projects at once
- Ability to clearly present technical concepts to a non-technical business audience
- Ability to interact effectively with peers in a fast-paced environment and under aggressive deadlines
- Ability to perform various data sourcing, transformation, storage and analytics tasks
- Extensive SQL experience
- Experience with data wrangling tools is strongly preferred (Alteryx, Trifacta, SSIS)
- Experience with data visualization tools is strongly preferred (Tableau, Power
BI, AWS Quicksight) - Experience with cloud solutions and APIs preferred
- Knowledge of statistical based data analysis and experience with R or Python is a strong plus
