Cloud Operations Engineer – part of Allspring Engineering and Technology (Allspring

ET).

Location:

Charlotte, NC or Milwaukee, WI.

Hybrid work model: required in‑office 3–4 days per week.

• Develop and maintain cloud computing operational standards across AWS, Azure, OCI and any future cloud environment that Allspring may consume.
• Mentor and lead domain education across a team of systems operators and administrators who operate Allspring’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring prompt resolution of incidents and events and evaluating root causes.
• Lead the design, build, and management of cloud orchestration and automation to facilitate system upgrades, patching, vulnerability mitigation, and other repeatable maintenance tasks.
• Lead the design, build, and management of cloud monitoring, leveraging native AWS, Azure, and OCI tools and recommending third‑party tools as appropriate. Monitor at the configuration‑item level and aggregate to the service level, enabling status dashboards, alerts, and incident ticket opening.
• Ensure 24/7 support as appropriate to support SLAs and OLAs, and manage incident, problem, and service request queues.
• Build strong relationships with developers, technology teams, solution teams, and business application owners; understand business and technical needs and design solutions aligned with existing standards.
• Ensure operability, availability, and performance of Allspring cloud standards by building redundancy, resilience, and monitoring, especially for mission‑critical functions. Collaborate with BCP to exercise disaster‑recovery plans regularly.
• Maintain level‑1 and level‑2 operational documentation (run books) and processes up to date.
• Form, implement, and enforce industry best practices.
• Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, teams, and external groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in MIS, CS, or other technology‑related field.
• 5+ years of engineering and technology experience, preferably in financial services, technology, or a related field.
• Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment and prioritize duties to meet deadlines with limited supervision.

• Occasional travel outside of primary work location may be required.
• 5+ years of experience with AWS and Azure; OCI preferred.
• Proven experience working effectively in heavily distributed environments.
• Experienced in maintaining strong documentation.
• Able to transfer knowledge to key team members and act as a value‑added resource.
• Proven experience of being on‑call for support and maintenance issues; able to troubleshoot independently.
• Interacts confidently with counterparts at all levels within the firm.
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams spanning a range of locations.

Base Pay Range: $100,000 – $125,000. Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, internal peers, performance, sector, and geographic location. The competitive compensation package may also include incentive programs linked to performance.
