As the Senior Catering Sales Manager, you will coordinate and oversee all internal and external catering events. Responsibilities include menu development, costing, marketing functions for catering, labor and food cost control, and the preparation, transportation, setup, operation, and clean‑up of all events.
Key Responsibilities- Hire, train, and develop managers, and actively support the development of service techniques, menu presentation, policies and procedures.
- Create operating statement and budget reports and review the collection of receivables.
- Plan and execute catering activities, bookings, and directed functions.
- Develop proposals, contracts, and banquet event orders.
- Prepare and monitor budgets, financial targets, and forecasts.
- Maintain a local client database and build relationships with new vendors.
- Ensure all safety and sanitation procedures are followed in compliance with HACCP.
- Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Proven track record for meeting sales goals.
- Strong knowledge of current food industry trends and fine dining service points.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in hospitality, including 2 years in catering sales.
- Supervisory, scheduling, training, and coaching skills.
- Ability to assess client requirements and deliver client satisfaction.
- Proficiency in writing menu proposals in consultation with chefs.
- Ability to supervise food preparation, service, and clean‑up.
- Knowledge of A/V equipment and ability to set up and break down for events.
- Superior quantitative, oral and written communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills, flexible and adaptable in changing environments.
- Attention to detail.
- Advanced computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proactive mindset and able to stay calm under pressure.
- Conformity to high standards of personal integrity and ethical behavior.
- Exceptional client relations and customer service abilities.
