The EHS Specialist will play a key role in developing, implementing, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs at a manufacturing facility in the Greater Milwaukee Area. This position supports a global healthcare manufacturing solutions provider specializing in custom plastics, automation, and high-precision manufacturing for healthcare, automotive, consumer, and electronics markets. The role partners closely with leadership and plant teams to drive a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and reduce operational risk.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 1–3 years of EHS experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of state and federal EHS regulations
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of current safety, loss prevention, and risk management practices
- Promote and model safe work practices in accordance with company policies, GMP, and GDP standards
- Support senior leadership in maintaining a safe, compliant, and healthy manufacturing environment
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve EHS programs aligned with global standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation efforts to ensure safe work systems
- Oversee emergency response planning, drills, audits, and EHS training activities
- Track, analyze, and present EHS performance metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, implement corrective and preventive actions, and prevent recurrence
- Conduct internal EHS audits to ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinate and deliver EHS training, including new hire safety orientation
- Partner with all levels of management and employees to promote safe manufacturing practices
- Support global EHS initiatives, safety teams, and continuous improvement projects
- Maintain EHS documentation, reporting, and the Safety Suggestion Program
