Overview

To provide clinical support services necessary for the management and treatment of persons with mental health issues. To participate as a member of an academic setting multidisciplinary team serving a generally commercial population of children and adolescents.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical support services within a State of Wisconsin-certified outpatient mental health clinic that may include individual, family, or group psychotherapy for a caseload of children and adolescents with a diverse range of mental health issues.
  • Triage of clinic s waitlist, parent/guardian, phone conversations, and care coordination with the ability to negotiate local and regional healthcare and social service support systems.
  • Complete intake assessments as needed. Document in an electronic medical record (EPIC) as needed.
  • Interface with clinical faculty and staff to include MD/DOs, psychologists, APPs, nurses, and support staff. Provide diagnostic consultation; maintain and participate in Quality Assurance activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation requirements for all services provided and participate in clinical supervision/consultation in compliance with all county, state, and federal rules.
  • Duties as assigned.
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities
  • Knowledge of psychiatric/psychological principles and skills regarding diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ability to provide individual, group, and family psychotherapy.
  • Ability to function in an interdisciplinary team. Sociocultural sensitivity.
  • Ability to respond to clinical and administrative emergencies.
  • Education and/or experience in outpatient interventions in an outpatient mental health setting.
Qualifications

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis.

Minimum Required

Education:

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or other Mental Health related field.

Minimum

Required Experience:

Minimum 3000 post-graduate supervised hours and experience in an outpatient setting

Preferred Certification
/
Licensure(s): Screening and Brief Intervention and Referral (SBIRT), preferred.

Physical Requirements

Work requires occasionally lifting moderate-weight materials, standing, or walking continuously.

Work Environment

Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.

Sensory Acuity

Ability to detect and translate speech or other communication required. Occasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids. Work is performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
