Job Summary
Coordinator, Outpatient Coding at Froedtert Health, Milwaukee, WI (Remote). Full-time FTE 1.000. Standard hours 40, Shift 1.
Responsible for ensuring high coder quality and productivity through quality reviews, action plans, workflow monitoring, issue resolution, training, and guideline maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform quality reviews as outlined in the HIM Coding Department Compliance Plan and coding guidelines.
- Develop and implement action plans for quality or productivity issues.
- Monitor coding workflows and work queues, troubleshoot delays.
- Collaborate with care providers and other departments to resolve coding‑related issues.
- Train outpatient coders and vendor staff; provide education and answer questions.
- Maintain internal Outpatient Coding Guidelines.
- Provide outpatient coding coverage as needed.
- Mentor OP coders; participate in special projects.
- 2–4 years of outpatient coding experience in an academic medical facility.
- Associate’s degree in HIM or equivalent (or 3 years progressive experience).
- Certified RHIA/RHIT and/or CCS required within 12 months of hire.
- High level of organization, excellent written and verbal communication.
- Adaptability, teamwork, and in‑depth knowledge of ICD‑10‑CM, CPT, anatomy and medical terminology.
Hourly pay $24.83 – $42.46, based on experience.
