SSH-West Allis is a critical illness recovery hospital committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. We help patients during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, and every team member plays a central role in providing compassionate, excellent care every step of the way.

• Use independent judgment to provide clerical services to the patient care units, including correct transcription of orders, filing of all reports, and arranging for transportation and follow-up/outside tests.
• Answering the telephone, taking and delivering messages by phone or verbally.
• Maintain close communication with the Charge Nurse/House Supervisor.
• Handle all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
• Order supplies as needed from Materials Management.
• Verify physician privileges prior to transcribing orders.
• Appropriately transcribe and flag orders from charts.
• Arrange for transport of patients for tests that are not offered in the hospital.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with medical files and terminology.

• Per Diem / Part-time (schedule may vary)
