RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER – Froedtert Health
Location:
Milwaukee, WI – Froedtert Hospital (On Site)
Full‑time, 90% FTE, 36 hours standard. Shift 1: 0600‑1830, 3 days per week. Holidays and weekend rotations required.
Job SummaryThe Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is proficient in the management and delivery of respiratory care, performing assessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups. The RCP 2 demonstrates critical thinking and the mastery of clinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT, precepts students on rotation, and exhibits leadership skills acting as lead therapist when required. Under the direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, this role provides professional respiratory care to patients per hospital policies.
Experienceand Credentials
- Minimum 1 year of experience and must be able to show RCP II competency within 6 months of hire.
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience in a hospital setting.
- Associate degree from a COARC accredited Respiratory Care program (required). Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- State of Wisconsin license as Respiratory Care Practitioner (required). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required;
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted for incumbents prior to 7/1/21. - AHA BLS and ACLS required. Advanced specialty credential from NBRC or AE‑C preferred.
