Key Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of telemetry monitors to ensure patient safety.
• Promptly notify the Registered Nurse of any changes in a patient’s heart rhythm.
• Document heart rhythms hourly and as changes occur.
• Generate telemetry strips for nursing staff in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Alert nursing staff immediately if telemetry signal is interrupted.
• Conduct daily inventory to ensure adequate supply of transmitters and lead wires.
• Handle confidential medical information with discretion and professionalism.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must successfully complete telemetry on-the-job training and education. Competency must be achieved within 6–12 weeks of hire and be maintained thereafter.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
