Job SummaryPerforms MRI studies under the direction of a radiologist and oversight of a senior MRI Technologist. This individual interacts with imaging staff, nursing, physicians, patients and visitors. Acts as a resource person for MRI technical, and other issues, and demonstrates competence according to specific guidelines and prescribed protocols. Operates MRI and related equipment, prepares scan room — equipment, supplies and medications.
This individual also maintains images and archives associated with patient data. Other duties as assigned.
One To Three Years Of Experience Is Preferred.
EducationGraduate of a JRCERT approved two-year or four-year radiologic technology, nuclear medicine program, or MRI program is required. Two or four year college degree in radiologic technology, healthcare, business or other related degree is preferred.
TrainingSuccessful completion of a cross-sectional anatomy class is required.
Special SkillsAbility and demonstrated competence in IV insertion and contrast injection; ability to assimilate new procedures into work routine is required.
LicensureARRT registered is required. Advanced certification through ARRT in ARRT-MR is required within 18 months of hire. BCLS certified within 90 days of hire date. State of WI license in Radiologic Technology if incumbent performs CT, general radiography or any other imaging using ionizing radiation; if practice is limited to MRI and/or Ultrasound, no state license is required.
