1. This job is ON - SITE.
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for supervising, coordinating, and monitoring clinical pharmacy practice and services /she will oversee the daily activities of the department including pharmacokinetics, therapeutic drug monitoring, patient‑controlled analgesia, antibiotic usage, drug policy initiatives, and decentral drug distribution. The Pharmacy Manager will work together with other hospital clinicians to define and develop clinical practice as it relates to pharmacy and the improvement of patient care.
Collaboration with other department managers to develop and implement new clinical pharmacy services will ensure the integration of pharmaceutical care throughout the Hospital. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency and/or an advanced degree is required. Displays a thorough understanding of pharmacology and therapeutics, acquired through a combination of school and experience, to recommend appropriate patient‑specific therapeutic regimens and monitor outcomes. Experience in development of new clinical systems, innovative use of pharmacy extenders, and improvement initiatives in the areas of clinical pharmacy practice is also required.
EducationBS or Pharm.
D. degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy is required. Minimum of 3 years hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency and/or an advanced degree is required.
- Ability to work successfully in an interdisciplinary (or team) environment.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead change in a non‑threatening manner.
- Effective teaching ability.
- Knowledge of drug evaluations, drug use evaluations, and program justifications.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Business hours including some early and late hours.
- Participation in human resource management activities (recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, etc.).
- Proficiency in word processing tools such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
- Comfortable researching and navigating the Internet.
Wisconsin pharmacist license (or eligibility is required). Board certification is preferred.
