Position Summary

Personal Care

• Assist consumers with getting in and out of bed.
• Assist consumers with toileting / incontinence care.
• Assist consumers with bathing or showering.
• Assist consumers with eating.
• Assist consumers with grooming, including mouth, denture, hair, shaving and nail care.
• Assist consumers with dressing and undressing, including care of eyeglasses and hearing aids.
• Assist consumers with mobility and ambulation, including the use of gait belts, walkers, or canes.
• Perform simple transfers, such as bed to chair or wheelchair and reverse.
• Provide skin care, excluding wound care.
• Prepare and serve meals.
• Perform light cleaning of areas used during personal care activities.
• Change consumers’ bedding, wash linens, and clean personal clothing.
• Complete all timesheets and document consumers’ condition as necessary.
• Maintain consumers’ confidentiality.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

• Experience in total care and ability to assist consumers with diverse needs.
• Adequate training in personal care services with documentation of training or demonstrated skill.
• Hands‑on experience with durable medical equipment, such as Hoyer lifts, gait belts, transfer boards, etc.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to relate well with others.
• Availability: weekend and evening preferred; ability to travel to Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha, and Washington Counties.
• Good problem‑solving skills.
• Have a working phone with voicemail that is regularly checked.
• Pass a caregiver background check with no criminal convictions significantly related to the job.
• Dependable and reliable.
