Position: Retail Pharmacy Manager - Through Cardinal Health

Overview

Retail Pharmacy Manager - Through Cardinal Health. This position is located at Sixteenth Street Community Health Center in Milwaukee, WI. Pharmacy

Hours:

Monday-Friday 8:30am - 6:00pm.

Cardinal Health contributes to health system pharmacy operations including safe, efficient and effective coordination of services that support acute care hospitals, hospital retail customers, ambulatory care and alternate site facilities, oncology and cardiology practices as well as retail customers. Retail Pharmacy is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications to the general public, in accordance with legal, ethical and professional guidelines;

may also consult with and advise patients and physicians regarding prescribed and over-the-counter medications.

Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with administrative and physician leadership within partner Community Health Centers to implement pharmacist driven clinical and dispensing services to the patients served.
  • Develop and implement collaborative practice agreements to help drive patient medication compliance for high-risk patients and improve provider satisfaction.
  • Implement best practices and ensure department compliance with 340B rules and regulations in collaboration with (the supervisor or applicable team).
  • Ensuring adequate staffing is present to fulfill the needs of the pharmacy or pharmacy department.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all prescription medication received and dispensed.
  • Ensure policies are in place regarding accurate dispensing and labeling of prescriptions and that those policies are followed.
  • Ensure that security of the prescription area and its contents are maintained at all times, including the restriction of unauthorized persons from being present in the prescription area while the pharmacist is temporarily absent, and the reporting of any thefts and/or diversions of controlled substances to the Office of Drug Control and the Drug Enforcement Administration pursuant to Federal and State requirements.
  • Ensuring only pharmacists and interns or externs under immediate personal supervision provide professional consultation with patients and physicians.
  • Oversee the Pharmacy’s Continuous Quality Improvement Plan to minimize medication error rates and maximize patient safety.
  • Not allowing misbranded, deteriorated, adulterated, improperly stored or outdated drugs or any drugs marked “sample” or with any like designation or meaning to be dispensed or present in active stock in the pharmacy.
  • Maintaining the prescription area in an orderly and sanitary manner.
  • Operate as “Pharmacist in Charge” of the pharmacy in accordance with Wisconsin Pharmacy law.
  • Maintaining that pharmacy and all pharmacy personnel comply with all Federal and State statutes, rules and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required;
    Pharm

    D preferred.
  • 3 years pharmacy management experience, 4-5 years overall pharmacy experience.
  • Immunization Certification or willingness to become a certified immunizer within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Interpersonal relations and customer service skills.
  • Multitasking and time management skills.
  • 340B experience preferred.

Anticipated salary range: $109,900 - $164,850
