Base pay range$97.75/hr - $156.40/hr
Major Responsibilities- Provides all elements of pre‑anesthesia, anesthesia and post‑anesthesia services including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care consistent with the anesthesia plan and in collaboration with the surgeon and anesthesia team.
- Manages conditions based on clinical indication, evidence‑based care, cost effectiveness, and assessment of risks/benefits and alternatives.
- Participates in pre‑operative evaluation including assessment, exam, obtaining informed consent, ordering and administering pre‑medications, reviewing pre‑operative studies.
- Ensures readiness and availability of equipment, supplies and medications to perform the planned anesthetic.
- Delivers anesthesia care including induction, maintenance, support of life functions, and emergence from anesthesia.
- Selects, obtains, and administers the necessary anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, fluids, and temperature‑regulating devices; assesses response and intervenes as needed.
- Performs post‑anesthesia duties including patient monitoring, facilitating safe transfer, administering post‑operative epidural pain relief and other analgesia, and making post‑anesthetic visits regarding complications.
- Manages emergency situations by assessing, stabilizing, and determining disposition of patients, providing advanced airway management, administering emergency drugs and fluids, and using basic and advanced cardiac life support techniques.
- Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record; substantiates and submits professional services consistent with compliant coding and billing practices.
- Participates in quality, safety and peer‑review initiatives, organizational and departmental meetings, peer‑review, and work groups as necessary.
- Participates in education and onboarding of new team members, students, and other health care professionals.
- Seeks experiences to maintain and develop clinical and professional skills and advance the profession within and outside the organization.
- Maintains standards of productivity, access, face‑to‑face time, and quality metrics to ensure optimal, safe and timely patient care delivery.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the ages of patients served, understanding principles of growth and development, and interpreting data to identify age‑specific needs.
- Active RN, and APRN/APRN‑FPA/APNP or other APRN license(s) in state(s) of practice.
- Active national board certification as CRNA by a nationally certifying board (NBCRNA).
- Active DEA registration prior to hire.
- If Illinois practice: active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire.
- Active ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical site/practice and/or role prior to or within 6 months of hire.
- Education:
Master’s Degree in Nursing. - Experience:
No experience required.
- Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency and excellent decision‑making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as an effective member of a health care team.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technology and proficiency with the electronic medical record.
- Excellent communication skills; ability to collaborate and build relationships with others.
- Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize effectively.
- Must have functional vision and hearing.
- Will be required to use foot pedals on carts or machines.
- Will be exposed to the following hazards on a continuous basis: mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, blood, and body fluids.
- Will be required to wear gloves, goggles, and gowns on an as‑needed basis.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during the work shift.
