1. Acute care pool position for weekday availability as well as weekends. Position does include weekend and holiday expectation.
The Speech/Language Pathologist II provides comprehensive speech therapy services to the patient by assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting patient care and treatment programs. The therapist participates in varied Rehabilitation Services department activities designed to enhance patient care and programs. A Speech/Language Pathologist II demonstrates advanced evaluation and treatment skills and is involved in program development, staff education, student supervision. Also demonstrates emerging leadership skills and mentors department staff.
Demonstrates advanced evaluation and treatment skills and has ability to work in any department or location assigned based on rehab needs. Other duties as assigned.
A minimum of two years of clinical experience meeting requirements of Level I responsibilities as determined by interview and assessment.
Education RequiredMaster's degree in Speech Pathology is required.
Special SkillsMust be proficient at all SLP level 1 competencies, maintain productivity level and have the potential to take on additional responsibilities. Competence in Video Swallow Studies is required.
Licensure RequirementsState of Wisconsin license in Speech-Language Pathology is required. Certificate of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) as awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association is required or must be obtained within 18 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.
