FTE: 0.9, Standard
Hours:
36, Shift: , 3 days per week with Saturday and Sunday, floating weekday, holiday rotation required, weekend differential 15%, one weekend off per quarter.
The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient in managing and delivering respiratory care. Demonstrates competencies in respiratory assessments and procedures across all patient populations and age groups. Performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administering respiratory care procedures in acute and critical care areas. Exhibits critical thinking skills and master clinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts students on rotation and acts as lead therapist when needed.
Under the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, provides professional respiratory care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience and ability to demonstrate RCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role.
- Preferred:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care.
- Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program is required.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Critical thinking skills.
- State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required;
Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted for incumbents prior to 7/1/21. - American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent is required.
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
- Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma Educator Certification (AE-C) from NAECB is preferred.
