Overview
The Head of U.S. High Yield Research is responsible for leading our U.S. high yield credit research efforts and is part of the Global Fixed Income Research team, providing differentiated fundamental insights to support our fixed income strategies. This role combines hands‑on sector and issuer coverage, team leadership, and close partnership with portfolio managers to drive consistent alpha generation across credit cycles while maintaining strong downside risk discipline.
We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in‑office 4 days per week.

Milwaukee, WI
- Oversee fundamental analysis and relative value recommendations of U.S. high yield issuers across sectors and capital structures, including crossover, stressed/distressed, and loan‑only credits. Relative value recommendations should be dynamic and may differ across an issuer’s corporate and capital structure.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of U.S. high yield credit analysts, and collaborate with the Head of Global Fixed Income Research and other research leads.
- Maintain direct research coverage of select sectors and issuers.
- Foster a culture of accountability, debate, and intellectual rigor consistent with a high‑performing asset manager.
- Provide ongoing monitoring and timely updates on covered issuers, while maintaining flexibility to take advantage of opportunities in the market.
- Present forward‑looking perspectives on defaults, recoveries, refinancing risk, and liquidity conditions in U.S. high yield markets.
- Maintain a strong external market network to stay ahead of new issuance, capital markets activity, and structural trends.
- Represent the firm internally and externally as a senior U.S. high yield credit expert.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in high yield credit research, leveraged finance, or related fixed income roles.
- Proven track record of generating alpha through fundamental credit analysis.
- Prior experience mentoring junior analysts.
- Strong understanding of capital structures, covenants, restructuring, and distressed credit dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex credit views.
- The candidate will be degree qualified.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
- Prior experience leading research teams.
- Considerable experience investing in loans and/or distressed securities.
- Advanced degree (MBA and/or CFA charter strongly preferred).
- Experience across multiple credit cycles.

Base Pay Range: $200,000 - $225,000
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
