Assistant Controller

Overview

$125,000 to $145,000 + Bonus & Benefits

We are partnering with a growing, privately held manufacturing organization to add an Assistant Controller to its finance and accounting team. This is a highly visible role that will support continued growth by strengthening cost accounting, financial controls, and team development within a hands on manufacturing environment.

• Support and oversee the monthly close process, including review of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
• Lead and support manufacturing cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, standard costing, variances, and margin analysis
• Partner with plant and operations leaders to understand production drivers and their impact on financial results
• Assist with cash management activities, working capital analysis, and coordination with treasury as needed
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to support accuracy and compliance
• Support annual audits and act as a primary point of contact for external auditors
• Help drive ERP usage, data integrity, and continuous process improvement initiatives
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to accounting and shared services team members

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in cost accounting and inventory intensive operations
• Prior experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity, or readiness to step into that level
• ERP experience within a manufacturing setting; comfort working in evolving system environments
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
• Ability to work on site and partner closely with cross functional teams
