Provides tax planning and advice as part of a comprehensive wealth management solution to deliver an exceptional client experience. Provides technical expertise for tax planning solutions and administration. Works collaboratively as part of the client/relationship management solution. Identifies and makes referrals to other business groups as appropriate.

  • Identifies opportunities to grow existing relationships and develop new business.
  • Participates in advisory committees for tax planning and related wealth management.
  • Assists in the development of strategic plans.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Provides insight and shares expertise with team members for taxation concepts and other complex wealth services offerings.
  • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Provides input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core business/group processes.
  • Develops and manages a business/group program.
  • Reviews the program for effectiveness, considers industry trends and recommends enhancements; makes changes as required.
  • Identifies business needs, designs/develops tools and training programs; may include delivery of training to audiences.
  • Provides proactive, integrated, and customized tax planning strategies to help clients achieve financial and personal goals.
  • Communicate effectively with sales management and sales force to keep them informed of tax planning trends, developments and changing regulations.
  • Coaches and advises others on the client specific situations, sharing technical knowledge.
  • Develops rapport and instills confidence with the client to develop credibility and earn their trust as a member of the client strategy team.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Follows through on the risk and compliance processes and policies to ensure we safeguard our customers’ assets, maintain their privacy, act in their best interests, and ensures an effectively run function.
  • Protects the Bank's assets and complies with all regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.
  • Identifies and recommends ways to enhance the client experience.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
  • Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
  • Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications
  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Tax Planning and Legal processes and procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of Tax issues, Trust Accounting and Investment Management
  • In-depth knowledge of tax requirements including estate planning techniques, relevant tax regulations.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

Salary : $66,600.00 - $
